I Too Had A Love Story - Ravinder Singh

The reason why i chose to read this book was that when i asked the book sellers at the Airport almost all of them told that this book is the bestselling Indian author book in recent times.A true love story . A simple and beautiful story. The story is nothing new but the way the author portrays it, is good. This is Ravinder Singh's first book so we can excuse him for his shabby writing at some parts.

The story starts with the reunion of 4 friends who are working in different MNCs. They share everything and discusses about their next stage in life which is marriage. There starts the story of the author. After returning from his reunion ,he registered in shaadi.com ,after unfruitful days , he received a message from a girl from Faridabad.Kushi, the girl and Ravinder from Bhubaneswar starts their whirlwind love through SMSes and phone calls.

Without meeting in-person they became stronger in their love and desperately wanted to get marry. They informs about their love affair to their parents who agreed and decided to arrange for engagement on Feb 14.The day was decided by Kushi who insisted Ravin for the special day.As they were preparing for the big day Kushi met with an accident and was admitted in a hospital.Ravin rushed to the hospital only to see his beloved Kushi in ICU and in dangerous situation.Unfortunately , Kushi died of various complications.

The author wonderfully and realistically brings the pain of the loss of loved one, at certain point you feel like crying with the author. His honesty in telling this story is visible in many places. The first part of the story i.e the initial romance period was wonderful , dont expect literary quotations or awesome phrases, but he uses a typical Indian english effectively. While reading you will definitely feel that Ravinder Singh had put his heart and soul to share his real experience with us.Well done Ravinder.

Those who did "love" marriage, this book will bring back those wonderful moments- the first kiss, the first hug and the first "alone-in-room" experience , the first "lie" to parents etc.And those who are in a relationship with a girl will feel very very bad and sad about the ending of this story.

Overall a nice read ...!!
