சூடிய பூ சூடற்க(Soodiya poo sudarga) -நாஞ்சில் நாடன் (Nanjil Naadan)

This book is a collection of short stories written over the years by Naanjil Naadan. As in the foreward the author shows anger/wrath towards the society in many of his stories and in most cases rightly so.He brings the native languages of the people lively in all the stories.Among all the stories in this book i liked the story titled "Yaam unbaem"(யாம் உண்பேம் ) - this story shows the current state of the most Indian farmers, the way the author constructed the story was simply wonderful. Its very sad that government is not taking enough steps to uplift these farmer's life.

The story of "Gurkhas" in "Dhanram singh" is also very sentimental.I still remember when i was kid my mother used to give food and money to my village gurkha who as described in this story looked tall and handsome, now im thinking he too will have a story like this.I laughed lot when i read story "Therthal aanaythirkku thiranthaveli kaditham",this story shows autor's wrath on the governments in India. Then there is a story of writer i.e "kadhai eluthuvathan kadhai" shows the most of the tamil writers life's in a nutshell.

All the characters in this book are common man nothing special about them , you can meet them everywhere, which makes the stories more enjoyable to read. Most of the stories are easy read, his extensive travels around India made him to write with the precise details of the place and things. In one story he slams the current state of marriages(matrimony). His attention to detail in potraying the life's circumstances and his description of various traditions in those part of the world are some of the highlights in his story telling.

His writings are so good that you can find solace in it for your wrath and anger.Great read!
This book received Sakhtiya academy award in 2010 and this book was one of biggest seller at the Chennai Book Fair 2011.
