I'm not a big fan of Alex Ferguson's tactics but he was an excellent in man management. As i was browsing magazines in the book store i found Harvard Business Review, on the side of the front page i saw "Ferguson's formula'' . Intrigued i bought the book and read that article. The article was written by Anita Elberse . In that they had discussed eight leadership lessons , here are they:
1)Start With Foundation.
2)Dare to Rebuild Your Team.
3)Set High Standards and Hold Everyone to Them.
4)Never , Ever Cede Control.
5)Match the Message to the Moment.
6)Prepare to Win.
7)Rely on the Power of Observation.
8)Never Stop Adapting.
Those who follows Manchester United knew most of the above lessons. And Ferguson was right and proved it . For me one very important lesson which highlighted Ferguson's carrier was " Never , Ever Cede Control " , he got many bad press for that approach but he was successful , and he never allowed any players to question him and he made sure that no player is more than the club. The above lessons can be applied to any business too.
A successful manager.Adios Sir Alex!
