True Grit (2010)

One of the year's best movie.Simply awesome. The story starts with the murder.Mattie, the fourteen year old daughter of the murdered man comes to take the corpse. She sold all her father's assets and decided to track down her father's murderer. She hires Rooster Cogburn as she hears that he has "true grit", from the people.Initially hesitant to take a fourteen year old girl with him to the long journey to Indian country Rooster decided to help her after she valiantly followed him and LeBoeuf,a Texas Ranger who is also looking for the murder in relation to another case.

The rest of the story is how they pursue Tom chaney, the murderer.I should say the cinematography is one best i have seen in recent times, various angles and mood variations are optly captured.Wonderful work by Roger Deakin.
Jeff Bridges & Hailee Steinfeld
Hailee Steinfeld as Mattie Ross was amazing, its unbelievable that this is her first movie, great start, I hope she will go places in future.Jeff Bridges as Rooster Cogburn was brilliant, what a performance!i was not surprised that he received Oscar nomination for this role.LeBeouf played by Matt Damon has proved what a good actor he is! Other casts were also performed their role perfectly.

I read that this movie was adopted from a novel by Charles Portis and already in 1968 , a film released with the same name,in that the great John Wayne acted as Rooster Cogburn. But i haven't watched the film yet.The Coen brothers did a wonderful job , they adapted the story brilliantly. You wont feel dullness in any scene, eventhough in most of the scenes there were only 2 or 3 actors. The dialogs are so good. Some of them :

Mattie : "You must pay for everything in this world, one way and another. There is nothing free except the grace of God."
Rooster : Is that him?
Mattie : I beleive not.
Rooster: Oh,cut him down.
Mattie :why?
Rooster: I might know him
Rooster :who is in there?
Quincy  :A Methodist and a son of a bitch!
A must watch movie of this year!!
